The Area, Benardia

 

Beniardá is a small village in the comarca of La Marina Baixa, in the province of Alicante, Spain. with 231 inhabitants - located between the reservoir below Guadalest Castle, the Xortá and Serrella sierras.

 

It is a typical village of the Alicante mountain area with an architecture that shows some of its Moorish past. Islamic foundations have been found in a house in the Calle de la Torre.

 

The village's economy is based on agriculture with dry region crops and fruits being grown.

 

Monuments: Sixteenth-century church, the Catholic church of Sant Joan Babtista, built in the 16th century. Plus the Font Vella and Font de la Mesquita.
